I attended Temple University in Philadelphia, PA and graduated with a Master’s degree in Social Work. I became a Licensed Social Worker shortly after graduation. I worked for a home-bound Early Intervention birth-three program in Philadelphia, PA for 10 years. I moved to Delaware in 2003 to work at the Children’s Advocacy Center of Delaware. In 2008, I became the Pediatric Hematology Social Worker for the Sickle Cell Department at Nemours. I have participated in several research pilots including “Psychoeducation and coping skills for children and adolescents with sickle cell” and “Screening for psychosocial Risk in Pediatric Sickle Cell Disease”. I am a part of the Transition Clinic team focusing upon health promotion, career planning, navigating the medical system, and health benefits. I am co-facilitator of the Sickle Cell Family Advisory Council at Nemours.
